Web Development
I have a passion for web development. I am constantly refining my methodologies to create "the perfect site". ALL my websites adhere to the World Wide Web Consortium XHTML standards. Most of my applications are developed in Adobe's ColdFusion, but I also have experience in Microsoft's ASP.
Database Design
Most applications these days have a database. They can be the backbone to your project. Properly designed databases can help you achieve success in your project. Poorly designed databases can mean instant failure. Your database should always have long-term goals in mind and give you room to grow. If built poorly, you may end up having to do a bunch of manual data cleanup when trying to upgrade. I have learned the hard way how important it is to design your database right the first time. Depending on the size of your application, my clients usually use Microsoft Access or SQL Server, but I have also used Oracle and MySQL.
Software Programming
More and more applications are being developed online. Online applications usually do not require special software to be installed on client machines and can easily bridge remote offices. In some instances it still makes sense to develop "off-line" applications. Most of my software programming is done in Visual Basic, but I also have experience in BASIC, and COBOL.
